Kenya HDR TimeLapse
Need to fix a few things, but here's a sample HDR timelapse from this past week in Kenya.

After sending an email to a client about a project in Portland, I was reminded of how fun it was to create this video with my wife and cousins in a road trip across America. The sites in this quick advertisement for ROLA, a Cequent Performance Products brand, are from the beautiful West Coast, specifically the Northwest. Enjoy! USAT Ad
This is definitely one of the oddest interviews I've ever been apart of. Thank you Trace Rorie for taking the time to interview me, but at some point I hope we can clear the air with a few of these questions.
BX Films is more than just a collection of fancy gadgets. Sure, we use 8-core Apple Mac Pros, shoot with 1080P HD video cameras, and spend thousands of dollars keeping up to date with the latest digital video production software, but the part of the story you don't see is that you're not hiring technology... you're hiring the creatives who mastered the technology and can look beyond the gadgets. By the time you've asked "will this be in HD?" we're already brainstorming how to make people crave your brand. Because after all, you're not hiring technology, you're hiring the creative firepower to "wow" your clients.
That's us, BX Films. It's a pleasure to meet you.
Needing 1080P high definition video footage, Memorial Hospital of South Bend contracted BX Films to shoot for their Cancer Care Center this week. The Cancer Care Center will be putting together a DVD to send to new patients to give them a look at the facility and walk through the process before they set foot in the treatment room. The purpose of the DVD is to show how extremely high capacity Memorial's Cancer Care Center is; from the friendliness of the staff, to the latest technology and precision of the treatment, seeing the process ahead of time will eliminate many of the unknowns of cancer treatment for new patients, and pave the road to recovery with confidence and hope. BX Films was pleased to be part of it.
BX Films had the wonderful opportunity to capture the missional story in Tom Grathwohl's "Tom's Turkey Tuesday." Mouths are fed, lives are touched, and God is moving in Tom's heart and actions... check out "Tom's Turkey Tuesday" as shown at Granger Community Church.
I'm not expert on the topic but I do think this is pretty stinkin' fantastic. For quite some time I have thought to myself, "I'm uploading all these photos to Facebook, I wish it would become more of a place to document my life." And alas, it seems like that day is here (soon).
Check out Facebook Timeline. I think it's pretty rad.
BX Films had the opportunity to create this video demonstrating the partnership between Forest River's Rockwood® brand and Cequent Performance Products' Reese® Revolution 5th wheel hitch. The Reese® Revolution enables the Rockwood® Ultralite series 5th wheel to make over 90 degree turns even with a short bed pickup truck. If you do any amount of towing, you're probably drooling by now. If you don't do any towing, the video will explain the rest... enjoy!
The more I talk to people at businesses around the community, the more I learn that one of my biggest barriers to entry for BX Films is previous production companies that people have worked with. I'm not talking about strong relationships that we can't break through, I'm talking about simple technical knowledge that a production company really should know. People have been concerned with things like "the last guy we worked with didn't have the audio and video lined up, so let's not do it the way you're talking about because I don't want to run into that again, and also, the audio sounded terrible with the last guy we used, do you ever have issues like that?"
Question 1: That should never happen. When you use BX, that will never happen.
Question 2: Valid question, and we will make sure your audio sounds great!
The lesson I'm learning now is figuring out how to convey our expertise in the craft and help potential clients know that we won't have to deal with petty issues like technical incompetencies... we can jump straight to the creative brainstorm where we dream up something AWESOME to create together. Yet at the same time, we don't want to sound like arrogant "techie know-it-all" types; nobody likes them, and that's not who we are at BX. We want to bleed a humble confidence that makes your product, service, and/or vision the central theme. We aren't the focus, you are. BX wants to help everybody see how truly awesome you and your company are.
